Mr. Abbaszadeh was the principal in charge for the design of a three-story addition to the Gap International Headquarters located in Springfield, Pennsylvania. The total area of this addition was approximately 18,500 sq. ft. plus a full basement for mechanical equipment and storage. The roof construction used metal deck and steel bar joists supported on steel beams and columns. The first, second and third floor framing was comprised of concrete deck on form deck and steel bar joists supported on steel beams and columns. Rigid steel frame was used to resist lateral loads on this building. The foundation was designed using shallow concrete spread and strip footings. The basement walls were design as reinforced concrete walls.

Feng Shui principals were used in the design of this building. This principal, among other requirements, required that the columns be round. AISC steel code did not allow use of round columns in rigid moment frame. To overcome this shortfall, square tube structural columns, which are efficient in design of ridged moment frame design, were used and the structural columns were later covered with round architectural façades.
