The Upper Moreland Board of Education decided to commission Agoos Lovera Architects to renovate and expand the existing 1960’s building instead of constructing a brand new high school. The additions to the existing facility included a three-story science building, featuring several high-tech laboratory classrooms and a large auditorium. Because this building was sandwiched between the existing two-story classrooms and the existing access roadway, innovative rigid steel framing with cantilevers at the third floor and roof framing were designed to support the architect’s intent.

Other additions to the existing high school included a one-story band and choir building, a new one-story administration building, and a new gymnasium and wrestling facility.

The total addition to the existing building was approximately 40,000 sq. ft.
