In 2005, Agoos Lovera Architects was commissioned to convert an existing building in the Navy Yard for the new AKER Philadelphia headquarters. This building, located between two dry-docks, was designed for heavy industry use without any window openings and with thick concrete floors. Mr. Abbaszadeh was in charge of providing evaluation of the existing structural elements for the new use and alternative structural retrofit to allow for numerous wall and floor openings required for the adapted re-use.
